All children of Hideaway and families of Hideaway members ages 5 through 16 are eligible to participate. Prizes will be awarded in these age groups: 5-8, 9-11, 12-16. Participants between ages 5 through 8 must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult.
No child will be permitted to participate until he/she has been registered with event sponsors and a Release of Liability has been signed by a parent or responsible adult.
All participants must stop by the marina in person before starting to fish on the morning of the event to get their name tag and verify registration. Volunteers will be available beginning at 7 a.m. to assist.
Participants may fish anytime between 7 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. off a pier, dock, or bank on any of the three HAWL lakes. They may fish from a private dock with permission. Participants may NOT fish from boats or barges.
Participants should provide their own fishing equipment. They may use any type of bait or lure. Free minnows and worms will be available at registration beginning at 7 a.m.
1st, 2nd, & 3rd place trophies will be awarded in each age group for largest BASS, CATFISH, BREAM, & CRAPPIE. Decisions of the Judges are final.
Participants MUST BE IN LINE (in person) with all and only fish caught between the hours of 7 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on the morning of the event to the Marina for weigh-in NO LATER THAN 11:45 A.M.
Participants should bring to the weigh-in their largest catch in each category.
Trophies, pictures, and door-prizes will be announced after all fish have been weighed in. PARTICIPANTS MUST BE PRESENT IN PERSON TO RECEIVE TROPHIES & DOOR PRIZES.
Complimentary lunch of hot dogs, chips, ice cream, and cold drinks will be served after presentation of trophies and door prizes.
